The GLOBAL UNITED SCHOOL

established in 2014 \ Iraq – Baghdad, GUS is an IB authorized school with the number 052351 . The instruction language is English Our curriculum includes Languages, Maths, Science, PHE, Music, Arts in additional with the Arabic and Islamic, all are been taught during a transdisciplinary theme The school follows the international assessments .
The school is exempt from the Iraqi ministry of education exams
The IB offers three high educational quality programs to the students from 3 to 19 years. PYP Includes (Gr1, Gr2, Gr3, Gr4, Gr5) MYP Includes (Gr6, Gr7, Gr8, Gr9, Gr10, Gr11) DP Includes (Gr11, Gr12).

Amna Ahmed

PYP teacher

Hello, my name is Amna Ahmed. I have been a certified PYP teacher at Global United School of Baghdad for the past eight years, with more than 18 certificates in teaching and I also worked as the PYP coordinator, My approach focuses on fostering a love for learning and encouraging critical thinking, ensuring that each child reaches their full potential. I'm passionate about the PYP framework and committed to creating a dynamic learning environment for students.

Umniah Ahmed

PYP teacher

My name is Umniah Ahmed, Im a certified PYP teacher and KG coordinator at Global United School, I have eight years of experience in teaching early years. My passion for education is reflected in my more than fifteen certificates in education. With a background in civil engineering I integrate a structured and analytical approach into my teaching. This blend of skills ensures a comprehensive and enriching learning environment for my students.

Kawthar Hussein Haidar

PYP teacher

My name is Kawthar Hussein Haidar. I am an Arabic language teacher with 14 years of experience, including four years in Lebanon and ten years at Global United School (GUS) in Iraq. At GUS, an International Baccalaureate school, I’ve completed various courses in GIS and participated in workshops on modern teaching methods, classroom management, and collaborative learning. I’m also a Trainer of Trainers and a member of the International German Academy. Recently, I attended a workshop on "Making the PYP Happen: Implementing Agency" at GUS in August 2023. I believe education is the key to unlocking hope and opportunities for everyone.

Hi, my name is Zainab khazem and iam a Homeroom Teacher for grade 1.
I have a certificate in English Literature.
My passion in life is teaching kids and build a strong bond with them in additiin to learning languages since I can speak three languages: English, Turkish, and persian.

Othman Imad

Art teacher

am Othman Imad, an art teacher at Global United School with a year and a half of experience. I hold numerous certificates in art exhibitions and am also an accomplished artist. I am dedicated to fostering creativity and expression in my students, drawing from my extensive knowledge and passion for the arts.

My name is Jihan Meran. I am a nursery teacher at Global United School, where I have been nurturing and educating young children for the past two years. l work closely with little ones, ensuring their growth and development in a supportive environment. My name is Kawther Hafidh, I’m an IB teacher at global united school. IB is wonderful to develop an environment of well minded students. My passion lies in fostering students’ love of literature and cultivating critical thinking. I seek to grow professionally within a collaborative environment focused on the whole child. I’ve been teaching learners for (5 years). My background includes teaching students of all levels. While teaching, I also talk about several topics, my classes are always fun and interesting.

My name is Shaima Thamer, and I am a PYP KG teacher. I graduated in the top five of my class from the Education College for Women at the University of Baghdad. With two years of experience teaching primary students. My goal in teaching is to incorporate modern educational methods and create a suitable and comfortable learning environment for my students.

Shireen Ismael Traw Zangna

Arabic teacher

I’m Shireen Ismael Traw Zangna, with a diploma in Arabic Language and Social Studies from Al-Bayader Institute. With 14 years of experience teaching grades 3 through 6, I specialize in creating a dynamic educational environment. My training in Computers and Computer Maintenance helps me integrate technology into my teaching. I am passionate about fostering innovation and distinctive cooperation in education. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, blogging, storytelling, and engaging in artistic and volunteer activities, which enhance my teaching and personal growth.

Baneen Zuheer Mustafa

Physical Education teacher

I’m Baneen Zuheer Mustafa, with a Bachelor's in Physical Education and Sports Sciences from Al-Mustansiriya University. I have four years of experience teaching grades 3 through 6 and in administration. My qualifications include courses in computer skills and English. I’m dedicated to preparing confident, dream-driven students. Outside of teaching, I’m an avid volleyball and badminton player, reflecting my commitment to sports and well-being.

Rasha Muhammad Jassim Mahmoud

Arabic and Islamic Education Teacher

I’m Rasha Muhammad Jassim Mahmoud, holding a Higher Diploma in Arabic Language and Social Studies from the Teacher Training Institute. With eight years of experience teaching Arabic and Islamic Education to grades six through nine, I also have a background in accounts and school management. I’ve earned certificates of appreciation from various private schools and have one year of experience with the IB Program at GUS School. I believe in the crucial role of education in building a strong, sophisticated society. In my free time, I enjoy sports and swimming, which support my well-being. My goal is to foster a conscious, cultured, and humane generation through education.

Reem Qais Zaki

Biology and Science teacher

I’m Reem Qais Zaki, holding a Bachelor's in Biology from Baghdad University and an advanced English diploma from LRC English Institute in India. With 15 years of experience, I’m currently an MYP Coordinator and teacher at Global United School in Baghdad, also teaching PYP. I’ve taught at Cambridge International School in Erbil and an Iraqi school in New Delhi. With 10 years in the IB Program and multiple professional certificates from the IB Organization and Google, I teach Biology, Science, Math, English, and Individual & Society. I’m passionate about teaching and exploring new educational technologies.

Cicy Irna

Chemistry and Science Teacher

My name is Cicy Irna. I hold a Master’s degree in Biotechnology Engineering and have 5 years of experience teaching Chemistry and Science. I have taught IBDP Chemistry, IB MYP Science and Chemistry, and Chemistry IGCSE. I am certified in Chemistry Cat. 1 and 2 for IB DP. My teaching spans grades 6 through 12, with a strong focus on creating a supportive and challenging learning environment. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and exploring new foods.
